JSF2024 Executive Summary

The 6th Japan SciCom Forum (JSF2024) was held on 22–23 October in Fukuoka, hosted by Kyushu University. It brought together experts from academia, journalism, and public outreach. The event focused on enhancing public trust in science, addressing challenges posed by technological advancements like AI, and fostering global collaborations. Keynote presentations, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions highlighted the importance of ethical AI use, transparent communication, and culturally sensitive practices in bridging gaps between science and society.

The forum, a resounding success, provided actionable recommendations for improving public engagement and building resilient global networks of science communicators. The organising committee has compiled these insights into an executive summary, which is expected to guide future practices and ensure that science communication evolves to effectively meet societal needs.
